Ball Fitting
“What golf ball should I play with?”
I receive this question on a regular basis. It’s an important question to ask and it should be answered by objectively assessing your golf game. It is the only piece of equipment a golfer will use on every shot. The player’s golf ball needs to:
- Feel good to the player on a well struck putt
- React on the green the way a player wants on chips, pitches, and bunker shots as well as partial and full approach shots
- Be selected BEFORE fitting your driver, fairway woods, long game, irons, wedges, and putter to optimize performance on the golf course
I have seen a lot of players who have dramatically improved their confidence just by optimizing the golf ball that they play. A golf ball fitting consists of:
- A player interview to assess the players golf ball needs
- Putting and “feel” analysis
- Performance assessment in a short game area to assess strengths and weaknesses around the green
- Full and partial wedge assessment with TrackMan
- Full swing TrackMan testing to optimize ball performance at high velocity
- Follow-up interview to monitor ball performance in playing situations and tournament conditions
If these basic points are not part of your ball fitting then you will not be optimizing the most important piece of equipment in your bag. Call me if you have any questions and sign up today for the best ball fitting opportunity in the North Shore!
