Health & Wellness Assessment

When Brandon started teaching in 1989 one phrase stuck in his head. “Golf instructors are in the people business, never forget it.” So fixing golf swings and helping clients reach their golf goals have been what Brandon has enthusiastically been perusing for his entire professional career.

“Would it be easy to work on a new golf skill while being chased by a lion?”

While this may seem like a silly question but if a golfer is under large amounts of stress (physical, mental, emotional, chemical, environmental)) their body will go through the same experience (stress response – sympathetic nervous system) as being chased by a lion. Stress is the root cause of more than 90% of diseases and surgeries in this country. A majority of these diseases/surgeries may be avoided with changes in lifestyle.

Issues that may be reduced with lifestyle changes:

  • Cancer
  • Dementia (Type III diabetes)
  • Type II Diabetes
  • Alzheimer’s
  • Parkinson’s
  • Heart Disease
  • ADD-ADHD
  • Depression
  • Anxiety

This list is what the population of the United States of America is dealing with and the number of cases is increasing every year.

Brandon is not a doctor and does not give medical advice. What he does is give awareness to his clients about potential issues with nutrition, sleep, stress management, relationships, hydration, lifestyle factors, rest, and recovery that may contribute to stress response in the body. He knows that the healthier a golfer is the better their potential to perform, learn and most importantly; play this game pain free for as long as they would like. Since 2008 he has incorporated the health and wellness aspect in his instruction and has dedicated large volume of time and resources to seek out the best information to help his clients.
